Vernacular: Green Longhorn

Account: Common in woodland, heathland and fens throughout much of England, Wales and southern Scotland Day-flying, males congregating in swarms in bright sunshine. Fairly unmistakable. Larva feeds on leaf litter, living within a movable case.
