Account: Nationally scarce (Nb) in woodland in southern England, as far north as Worcestershire and Leicestershire, and in parts of Wales Reliably separated from P. josephinae and P. flavifrontella only by dissection of the genitalia, however P. josephinae tends to appear later in the year, and P. subochreella generally has a plainer forewing and darker hindwing. Larva feeds on withered leaves, living within a movable case.
