Account: Local in rough meadows, dry grassland and waste ground throughout much of the British Isles Generally smaller than D. sedatana and distinguished by the absence of pale yellow irroration in the basal third of the forewing; D. plumbana is also generally smaller than D. aeratana but is similar in forewing pattern and markings [Bradley]. Larva feeds within roots of Yarrow and Ox-eye Daisy.
