Account: Common in a wide range of habitats throughout much of the British Isles A slightly larger species than E. immundana and with generally lighter coloration; in E. tetraquetrana the medial angulation of the outer edge of the basal patch is obtuse, whereas in E. immundana it is acute [Bradley]. Larva feeds within bark of Birch and Alder, forming galls, over-wintering as a pupa in a cocoon.
