Vernacular: White-pinion Spotted

Account: Common in woodland, scrub, hedgerows and gardens throughout England and Wales, less frequently, but increasingly, in the north. Can be confused with very faded examples of Green Carpet Colostygia pectinataria. Larva feeds on Blackthorn and Hawthorn, over-wintering as a pupa.
